01 · Respiration Who I am

Every voice begins with a breath.

I'm Nai-Ying Liu. My work has always circled one question: how does something said become something understood?

At National Tsing Hua University, I earned an MA in linguistics. In speech-language therapy, I trained for 563 supervised hours in two Taiwanese hospitals, learning how to help when speaking becomes hard. And in seven years of advertising, my daily work has been getting a message to the right people. This site follows a voice from the first breath to being heard, in five stops, and walks through these three parts of my story.

02 · Phonation Where I trained

First, learning to listen.

My path started with language. I studied English, then linguistics, where my thesis examined the grammar of a Mandarin auxiliary verb. I am now completing a master's in speech-language therapy, learning in hospital clinics where speech breaks down and how it can be supported.

  • GraduateMA, Graduate Institute of Linguistics, National Tsing Hua University
  • In progressMaster's program, Speech-Language Therapy track, Department of Special Education, University of Taipei (thesis on language samples of children aged 3–5 and licensing exam ahead)
  • UndergraduateBA, English Language and Literature, Fu Jen Catholic University
  • Clinical563 supervised hours · Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Child Development Center (2023) · Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Rehabilitation (2024)

Understanding a voice is only half of it. The other half is making sure it reaches someone.

03 · Articulation What I do

Then, getting a message heard.

For seven years I have worked as an advertising analyst at Blueeyes Tech, a digital agency in Taiwan. I plan and run ad campaigns for clients: choosing who should see each ad, testing the wording, reading the results and adjusting. I also do SEO and GEO directly on client websites, and use the same skills to grow my own content site.

  • RoleAdvertising Analyst, Blueeyes Tech · 7 years, client-facing
  • IndustriesHealthcare, B2B software, beauty, education, retail
  • Paid mediaMeta Ads, Google Ads, LINE Ads
  • SearchSEO, and GEO (visibility in AI-generated answers)

Each job taught me one half. The work below is where I put the two together.

04 · Propagation What I'm building

Where the two meet.

Tools for people with speech and language needs, and the know-how to get those tools in front of them.

In development

等你說 · Aphasia home practice

A web tool for people with aphasia and their families to practise at home. Two modes: Say it, picture naming with step-by-step cues adapted from Semantic Feature Analysis, and Understand it, where you hear a word and tap the matching photo. Real photos and large, simple controls, so older adults can use it without learning anything first.

語聲山語 Talking SLP

A Mandarin speech therapy content site that I write, run and grow myself. It is also where I test what I know about search and reaching readers.

05 · Perception Get in touch

The last step is being heard.

If you work with people who have speech or language needs, or on tools for them, I would like to hear from you.
